Some people may have amalgam fillings in their teeth, while others may opt for alternative materials such as composite resin or porcelain. It is important to consult with a dentist to determine the best type of filling for individual dental needs. **

Plastic fillings can discolor due to a variety of reasons. One common cause is the consumption of certain foods and drinks, such as coffee, tea, red wine, and dark-colored fruits, which can stain the filling material over time. Additionally, smoking can also contribute to the discoloration of plastic fillings. Poor oral hygiene and the accumulation of plaque and tartar can lead to staining and discoloration of the fillings as well. Finally, the natural aging process of the filling material can also cause it to become discolored over time. **

They are durable and can be matched to the color of your natural teeth, providing a more aesthetically pleasing option compared to traditional metal fillings. If you are interested in getting a plastic filling, please schedule an appointment with our dentist for a consultation. **

Cement fillings, also known as dental fillings, are used to repair teeth that have been damaged by decay. While cement fillings can help to restore the structure and function of a tooth, they do not prevent cavities. In fact, if a cavity is not properly treated and filled, it can continue to grow and cause further damage to the tooth. The best way to prevent cavities is through good oral hygiene practices, such as brushing and flossing regularly, and visiting the dentist for regular check-ups and cleanings. **

Most dental insurance plans provide coverage for basic dental procedures like fillings, cleanings, and exams. However, coverage can vary depending on the specific plan and provider, so it's important to check with your insurance company to understand what is covered under your policy. **
